The Herpetosure® Fencing System was developed in 2004 and became available in 2005, with the aim of providing a recyclable, reusable and robust alternative to the existing Newt Fencing, Snake Fencing, Reptile Fencing and Water Vole Fencing Products on the Market. Prior to the development of Herpetosure® Fencing; Newt Fencing consisted of 1mm plastic sheets buried into the ground and supported by timber stakes. This style of Newt Fencing System was not reusable or recyclable, so on project completion, it generated 100% waste for landfill.
Another issue with this Newt Fencing System, was that it is particularly vulnerable to Contractor Damage, Vandalism and Arson. The results of these actions found that the species on site had not being adequately protected. Often Clients would find that they had inadvertently breached the Granted Licence, so were left exposed to additional Maintenance Costs, Project Delays, and the inevitable Financial Impacts. Herpetosure® Newt Fencing was developed through fault identification and adaptation of existing systems, to result in a product that resolved every failing of the Timber and Plastic Newt Fencing System.
Herpetosure® Newt Fencing can be installed up to 10 times faster than alternative systems. It is Vandal Resistant, Fire Retardant and robust enough to be driven over by vehicles.
Herpetosure® Newt Fencing produces zero product waste being derived from recycled material and is 100% recyclable.
Herpetosure® Newt Fencing product integrity is guaranteed for up to 30 years against the elements. It protects against breaches of licence and can reduce on-going maintenance costs by up to 98%.
